What is pentedrone (NEP)?
N-Ethyl-nor-pentedrone (NEP), also known as N-Ethylpentedrone or Ethyl-pentedrone, is a lesser-known novel stimulant within the cathinone class. NEP produces stimulating, euphoric and mildly entactogenic effects. The stimulant effects of NEP are primarily attributed to its action as a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI). Although in moderate to high doses it also appears to inhibit serotonin reuptake, this activity is relatively low. NEP is structurally closely related to pentedrone, with an additional ethyl group on the terminal nitrogen, which makes it about three times as potent.

Pentedrone is known for its strong stimulating effect on both physical and cognitive levels. Scientifically, pentedrone induces increased physical energy and euphoria, which is attributed to its impact on neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine.
